Module Indicative Content
Students will study the basics of what sound is and how to manipulate it in a digital environment. The students will study how microphones and mixing desks operate. They will study the environmental impact on audio recording to record voice overs, interviews, vox pops and foley.
Both internal and externally recording techniques will be studied on location and in a recording studio. They will study audio processing software and virtual synthesiser tools to help process the audio and prepare it for application to a short film piece.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A PRACTICAL piece weighted at 50% - that will assess Learning Outcomes 1 and 2.
A written report weighted at 50% (max 1500 words) - that will assess Learning Outcome 3.
