All aspects of the module will be facilitated through workshops, tutorials, problem solving exercises and practical participation in the production of major collaborative projects using laboratory equipment and editing facilities
Module Indicative Content
Working collaboratively, this module requires students to convert and prepare filmed submissions for screening, create stings and adverts for inclusion in an event (Film Festival) and demonstrate the technical aspects of live, on location television production. Students will also create a short promotional film of the event and undertake appropriate roles in the production of the collaborative project.

In the course they will gain knowledge of;
1. The logistics of location production
2. Providing sound and lighting for a live event
3. Working under a Director in a live situation
4. Camera and lighting techniques for live recording
5. Establishing an on location live video feed
6. Problem solving in a live situation
7. Understanding codecs and file conversion
8. Understanding and creating stings and advertising
9. Producing a short promotional film of the event
Module Additional Assessment Details
Coursework, an evaluation (typically 1200 words) weighted at 70% addressing Outcomes 3 and 4 and an event inspection/tutor report informed by the production of technical materials weighted at 30% addressing Outcomes 1 and 2.
