Practical sessions supporting lectures will underpin the development of the underlying skills and knowledge required to complete the module and prepare for employment as a freelancer. Delivery will be supported by handouts, case studies and by visiting guest lecturers.
Module Indicative Content
The emphasis of learning will be on deveopment of the busienss skills nesessary to operate as a free lancer in film and television. In the course students will gain knowledge of;
1. Conditions of freelance employment (contracts)
2. Budetary and accounting issues (VAT, self assessment)
3. Ways of identifying employment opportunities (interview techniques, pitching)
4. The preperation of self promotion materials (CV, Portfolio, Showreel)
