Portfolio/log book (50%) to assess learning outcomes 1 and 3.
A practical piece (50%), 3 minutes in duration to assess learning outcome 2.
Module Indicative Content
Students will learn in-depth aspects of composition, lighting and image design, 3 point lighting, use of natural light, practical lights, the use of ND and graduated filters, exposure for digital media, dynamic range and how it is controlled and manipulated in post production. Gamma control and its relevance to camera matrix settings. The students will also cover the history of composition within the technology of cinematography.
