Module Additional Assessment Details
A coursework length 1000 words weighted at 70% addressing Learning outcomes 1, 2 and 4. The principles of documentary film making and an evaluation of the completed film.
A coursework weighted at 30% address Learning Outcomes 3 and 5. The documentary programme working as a team, peer assessment, individual log book.
Module Indicative Content
The development of the technological and management skills used in the production of film and television documentaries
1. Analyse a range of documentary programmes.
2. Develop and evaluate ideas for a documentary taking into consideration any legal or ethical issues.
3. Plan and produce a documentary.
4. Evaluate the finished product.
Module Learning Strategies
12 1hr lectures supported by 3 hour lab/practical sessions and group and individual tutorials
Learning on all aspects of the content will be facilitated through the study of film and television documentaries supplemented by workshops and tutorials to support the practical development and management of a documentary programme.
