Module Additional Assessment Details
1. A 10 page treatment document for a feature length film, showing subject research, contextual analysis, markets adaptations of short stories and story structure (weighting 50%). Assessing learning outcomes 1, 3 and 5

2. The opening 30 pages of the feature script. This must be correctly formatted using either CELTX (or equivalent) formatting software (weighting 50%). Assessing learning outcomes 2 and 4

3. Scene construction in script
4. Quality and depth of character construction
5. Quality and impact of first 30 pages in setting up the story

Module Indicative Content
Students will be taught research methods for scriptwriting, feature script structure and paradigms, advanced story structure and theory, how to adapt plays, novels and short stories for the screen, and finally how to market and sell the script.

Along side the teaching, students will be expected to read and analyse existing feature scripts, conduct comparative studies between the script and the finished films, create original written work and critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses. Students will also be expected to develop ideas with evidence of `drafting'.
Module Learning Strategies
Learning will be lectures, practical tutorials and self study.
