Learning Strategies
2 x 2 hour lectures, 22 x 3 hour lab session
Learning on all aspects of the content will be facilitated by production meetings, tutorials, and student centred learning. Practical assignments (testing) using portable and fixed film making equipment will support the learning.
Indicative Content
This module develops an understanding of the technology, pre-production, production and post-production techniques required for the production of a collaborative drama.
Through this module students will gain knowledge of
1. The way in which technology (camera skills, lighting and editing skills) is applied to the production of film or television drama.
2. The logistical, business, organisational and team working skills required when producing drama for film or television.
Additional Assessment Details
Assessment 1: Assignment - Group
A collaborative film and peer assessment weighted at 50% addressing Learning Outcomes 3 and 5.
Assessment 2: Reflective Assignment
A reflective report considering the requirements for a drama production, evaluating the factors that impact on the production process (typically 1500 words) weighted at 50% addressing Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 4.
