Module Indicative Content
This module requires students to work collaboratively to facilitate the production of a drama for film or television. In the course they will gain knowledge of:
1. The preparation of pre-production paperwork
2. Legal and ethical issues when producing a drama
3. Negotiation skills when sourcing resources
4. Negotiation for and preparation of contracts
5. Logistics when producing a drama
6. People management
7. Casting for drama
8. Team working
9. On-set management undertaking an individual role
Module Learning Strategies
2 x 3 Hour lectures, 22 x 3 hour lab/workshop sessions
All aspects of the module will be facilitated through workshops, tutorials, problem solving exercises and more specifically through practical participation in the production of major collaborative projects using laboratory equipment and editing facilities.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Coursework weighted at 50/50 comprising:-
Coursework, a portfolio of production paperwork including a post-production report (1500 words) weighted at 50% addressing Outcomes 1 and 2 and a tutor report and peer assessment weighted at 50% addressing Outcomes 1, 2 and 3.
