Module Indicative Content
This module requires students to develop understanding of technical sound recording and manipulation techniques and report on them prior to undertaking an individual role in the production of collaborative drama. In the course they will gain knowledge of,
1. Sound recording techniques for drama
2. Sound mixing and manipulation techniques
3. The importance of a properly constructed soundtrack
4. The importance of sound in relation to genre.
5. How audio effects the theme and tempo of a film
6. The importance of music in the creation of a soundtrack
7. The practical production of a soundtrack for a drama
8. Team-working in a collaborative process
Module Learning Strategies
All aspects of the module will be facilitated through workshops, tutorials, problem solving exercises and practical participation in the production of major collaborative projects using laboratory equipment and editing facilities.

Prior study of module CE70079-4 Practical Skills Technology or equivalent.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Coursework weighted at 100% comprising:-
Coursework, a report (typically 1200 words) weighted at 70% addressing Outcomes 2 and 4 and an employer/tutor report weighted at 30% addressing Outcomes 1 and 3
