1: As a team/individually research and produce documentary films addressing learning outcomes 1, 2, and 3.
2: Individually produce a report (maximum 1500 words) evaluating the productions addressing learning outcomes 2 and 4.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
The development of the creative and technical skills required for the production of television documentaries. Produce documentary films, production materials and written analysis and reflection.

1. Analyse a range of documentary programmes including the use of camera and format.
2. Apply ideas and content to produce a documentary taking into consideration any legal or ethical issues.
3. Plan and produce a documentary to a professional standard.
4. Gain knowledge of editing processes and styles used for documentary editing
5. Learn tapeless, rostrum camera, single and multiple source editing
6. Develop Editing and Avid skills for documentary use
7. Evaluate the finished product
LEARNING STRATEGIES
24 x 3 hours Learning will be practical tutorials. A certain amount of study is expected to be from research and self study and application to the practical. Students are expected to evaluate the latest technology used in television documentary production.
