Individual 10 minute research and reflective presentations assessing learning outcome 1, 3 and 5 (40%)
Practical skills portfolio assessing learning outcome 2 and 4 (60%)
Indicative Content
This module aims to advance your awareness and skills of a range of image and sound production and manipulation techniques. You will develop advanced skills in cinematography including camera setup, movement and lighting techniques, sound design including recording and sound processing and editing techniques including project set up and management, motion graphics and colour grading.
You will advance your skills through the application of techniques and technology relating to grip and moving camera, sound design processes such as Foley recording and ADR and post production techniques in colour grading. You will investigate footage management processes such as DIT with metadata, and production recording techniques such as camera reports.
• In semester one you will engage with a number of creative and technical processes relating to image and sound creation and manipulation
• In semester two you will choose a specialised area and develop an advanced portfolio of work. You will be expected to reflect on your previous experience and develop a more individual approach to your own craft skills
• You will collaborate with other students through the research and development process with the aim of developing an individual portfolio of work

Film making is the fusion of art and technology. To create great images and audio you will develop your understanding of this combination. In this module you will learn and apply the core craft skills relating to sound, camera and editing. You will learn how we light scenes, move the camera, edit sequences of shots and enhance all of this with sound design to create high end film sequences.
