Module Details
INDICATIVE CONTENT
You will engage with the client filmmaking production process from project scoping and pitching right through to the delivery and distribution of a completed client film. Realising the importance of communication and collaborative working, you will acquire a live client(s) of your choice and develop professional working relationships. Learning how to negotiate and design a brief with a client, you will produce video content in order to satisfy clearly defined aims and objectives. You will develop the entrepreneurial, creative, and technical skills required to produce a client-driven film.

You will analyse a range of commercial, promotional, corporate and music video productions to consider the use of message, visual style, production design and sound design. Informed by your analysis, you will apply your ideas to produce a client-driven film, that meets the aims and objectives of the agreed brief.

You will engage in reflective practice and share your experiences with staff and peers. You will contribute to a community of practice and learn from fellow filmmakers. Writing a reflective report will enable you to analyse the project's impact on your current and future filmmaking practice.

You will take responsibility for your own learning and engage with a variety of teaching and learning activities throughout the module. Knowledge and understanding will be developed through a series of mixed-mode learning sessions, workshops, meetings, tutorials, technical instructions sessions and independent study tasks.

You will work closely with your allocated project supervisor who will be coaching you throughout the module. Your supervisor will challenge you to do your best work and support you to overcome any barriers that you might face. Your supervisor will adopt the role of Exec Producer for your project and will approve the development of your work at key stages throughout the module.

There will be opportunities to share and critique your work with your peers during the module and you will be encouraged to participate and engage with large and small group discussions.
