INDICATIVE CONTENT
You will learn the fundamentals of film and television employment by exploring various production careers, including freelance and starting a production company. You will evaluate employment opportunities within your chosen field to propose a career plan and produce a portfolio/showreel of work, selecting artefacts best suited to promoting the craft skills relevant to your career aspirations. You will also explore the conditions of employment working within film and television.
Throughout the course, you have opportunities to enrich your employee profile, including becoming an Adobe Certified Associate, producing client films, entering film festivals and participating in the Turin project.

A Career Planning Portfolio to include a promotional showreel, supported by a career plan.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
The learning strategies used within the module include experiential learning, where you will learn through individual research and professional development, with personal tutor support to guide analysis of the current climate of the film and television industry. There is opportunity for learning to be personalised, as students are encouraged to examine employment opportunities and tailor a showreel of work to their chosen careers.
Workshops will explore research methods and interpretation of data, introducing fundamental theories that underpin the development of a personalised career plan and showreel.
•Technical Instruction provides hands on experience with professional camera, audio and lighting equipment and specialist post production and studio facilities.
Guest Speakers will provide context to the current climate of the film and television industry and give an insight into a range of careers.
Workshops will provide research exercises, opportunities to examine film and television employment and support the development of a career plan and portfolio/showreel of production work.

1. Demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding of the principles of working in film and television and assess conditions of employment when career planning.
