Module Additional Assessment Details
Personal Portfolio (100%) will include:
a) Case study research of entrepreneurship in the film and television industries
b) An individual 1,500 word report that describes the marketing and distribution plan for either a feature film or documentary or drama series for television.
c) A personal development statement/review: reflecting on skills development and review areas for further personal career development
Module Indicative Content
a) Students will develop industry related business and personal skills at an advanced level including:
Explore marketing concepts for film and television
Explore the possibilities of merchandising, product placement and tie-ins
Understand the role of International Film and TV markets
Develop entrepreneurial skills in developing projects and business start-ups
Be able to write effective business plans both for individual projects and for setting up a limited company.
b) Students will build on this knowledge by attending Skills Workshops, which will include presentation/communication skills,

The emphasis is upon `learning by doing¿, where learning takes place through personal experience, social interaction and reflection. The learning programme is reflecting the view that learning can take place outside as well as inside the classroom. It will facilitate interaction with the world of business as the module progresses. In addition, students will also have the opportunity to 'try out' these skills within their own subject specialisms.
