Module Indicative Content
The students will work as a group to produce a studio based topical television programmes.
The module requires a fast programme turnaround from pre production to production, showing an advanced understanding of the television industry's requirement for production and channel deadlines.
In the course they will gain knowledge of:
1. Various genre production:
To develop existing studio production knowledge to create programmes for different genres.
Learn how and why different genres require different technical requirements for studio based programmes. Also additional attention to set design, structure and camera techniques for different genres. (Examples possibly to include: drama: from sitcoms and soaps; entertainment: quiz programmes; or commercials).
Develop production scripts with technical directions for camera, lighting and sound for studio based programmes.
2. Studio Production Element
Working as a team to fast turnaround and produce a studio programme to a set deadline using existing studio production knowledge. Each team member will self manage their learning and production.
The module will develop an advanced understanding of the digital technology and creative knowledge used in studio based production.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Students will produce a studio based programme working in teams (75%) which will assess learning outcomes 2 and 4
Coursework: Individual Report 25% (1000 words) assignment which will assess outcome 1 and 3.
