Indicative Content
Filmmaking Project 1 provides you with the freedom to stretch your creative boundaries and self-determine your approach and output from your film production practice. You will develop confidence in self-managing your own learning and creative decision making.

Through the creation of your Negotiated Film Production, you will undertake comprehensive research and enquiry into your chosen filmmaking field, using your findings to inform your creative, technical, and practical decision making.

Within your Production File, you will collate an extensive collection of planning and development documentation. Combining your research, ideas generation, production preparation and distribution planning, your Production File will evidence your professional practice and creative decision making.

The Presentation provided opportunity to reflect on your creative and technical processes and effectiveness of your practice in relation to your original project aims and objectives. You will also consider your approach to self-directed study and evaluate your strengths and areas for improvement. Through your critical reflection you will draw clear goals for future independent study and future filmmaking practice.

Learning Startegies
Learning strategies used in this module are grounded in a student-led approach, where learners have the autonomy to choose their direction of study, conduct independent learning and negotiate project aims, objectives and outputs.

Whilst this module challenges learners to develop independence, students will engage with a community of practice, where they will share and debate ideas and discuss their project developments with staff and peers.

Students are supported through tutorials, where staff will adopt a coaching methodology, encouraging students to self-reflect and evaluate their progress and find their own solutions to problems.
