100% in-class assessment is in effect as follows:-
A CRITICAL ESSAY of 2000 words weighted at 30% assessing learning outcome 1
A LOG BOOK weighted at 30% will assess 2
A PRESENATION OF A PORTFOLIO OF PRACTICAL WORK weighted at 40% assessing learning outcome 3 and 4
Module Indicative Content
Students will learn to engage in practical and theoretical studies of film and sound aesthetics and advanced digital film technologies.
It will focus on HD film production, HD sound recording, professional development and film industry marketing and distribution. This will include an examination of historical and contemporary issues in relation to the British and International film industry. Current trends within the film industry will be investigated for their impact on technical, theoretical and critical approaches to the film and sound making process.

- Information gathering (Internet, books, technical articles, patents, company catalogues and literature, etc).
- Discussions with experts in Industry and University.
- Problem analysis and solution (analytical, experimental, and/or numerical).
- Learning from colleagues at work (discussion with colleagues) and working as part of a team are important aspects of the learning strategy.
- Advice and guidance will be given by the visiting tutor via visits, email, fax, telephone communication.
- Experiential work.
