Module Indicative Content
This module introduces you to issues arising from the exhibition of your work with others, and allows you to explore how exhibiting can transform the way work is received and interpreted. It will provide a physical space for exhibitions which will be curated and installed by students, and you will gain practical and conceptual knowledge of the mechanics of exhibiting. You will consider the appropriateness of hanging devices, object supports and intervention, as well as considering methods for collecting viewer feedback.
Each individual will document and reflectively analyse the processes of negotiating, planning and delivering a group exhibition, analysing through diary, research file or blog.
You will then present your particular approach to the curation and delivery of the project, through an individual curator's catalogue. The catalogue will begin with a short (500 word) introductory essay, and go on to set out the work of all exhibited artists.
