Module Learning Strategies
The production of a body of visual research is a substantial learning strategy associated with this module and as such you will be expected to make full use of independent learning time. A pattern of timetabled and demand-led tutorials will be sustained throughout the module and you will be expected to maintain a thorough and up to date record of tutorials, seminars and other relevant module events. You will be expected to develop action plans identified as a consequence of these. The development of your studio work will be monitored through peer and staff-led review. Your assessment presentation and portfolio of supporting work is an important formative learning strategy and should inform your work plan for semester 6.
Module Additional Assessment Details
You will present for assessment a body of work as outlined in the module information pack. This will consist of:

A body of studio work [Learning Outcomes 1,3].
A portfolio of supporting work [Learning Outcomes 1,2,3].
An artists statement [Learning Outcomes 4,5].

Module Indicative Content
This module will enable you to review or revise your personal project and to test its viability and potential to sustain a substantive body of work. Research will be the focus of your activity in this module and this will take the form of visual, textual and contextual exploration into your chosen theme. As part of this review of your practice you will be expected to examine and put into practice the developing relationships between materials, ideas, process and production.

Throughout this module there will be opportunities for you to test the development of your work through regular studio presentations and associated tutorials and seminars, and you will be encouraged to identify and articulate the relationship of your own practice to relevant contexts. As a result of the module you will develop a range of competencies that will enable you to produce an experimental body of work that might contain a wide range of differing visual outcomes alongside a portfolio.
