Module Details
Module Learning Strategies
The programme will be delivered primarily through independent learning. The independent study hours will be devoted to 40 hours volunteering and to reflection on the activity of volunteering. Ten hours will be allotted for the Involved student volunteering service induction and to work with a supervisor who will oversee the voluntary activity.
Students will have access to Blackboard VLE for learning materials and groups discussion.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Portfolio to include a reflective learning diary and essay, a skills analysis, a goal analysis and confirmation of at least 40 hours volunteering experience 70% [Learning Outcomes 2, 3 and 4]

Individual presentation 30% [Learning Outcome 1]



Module Indicative Content
This module will explore the content of voluntary activity in its practical application. It is designed for these who either:
a. have undertaken 40 hours of voluntary activity
b. are currently in the process of undertaking 40 hours of voluntary activity
c. have found a voluntary placement and can complete the 40 hours during the module.
The module will focus on the practical activity of volunteering with a specific focus on leadership, and reflection on management of the volunteering process.
