Module Additional Assessment Details
The focus of assessment needs to be on the achievement of the assessment criteria in each of the 10 units. It is important to note that assessment of knowledge is not just about the ability to recall data and information, but extends to understanding.
Summative assessment of the units will be shown through a portfolio of the following. There are no weightings applied to any assessment elements. Assessments are graded pass or fail only;
¿Two 60 minute closed-book examinations; these will be comprised of multiple-choice/short Q&A-type questions. The pass mark for each is 15 out of 25 (60%).
¿Six written assignments; learners must demonstrate competence against all 91 assessment criteria mandated by the College of Policing in order to pass. Each assignment contains up to 30 questions. Assignments are expected to take learners 2 hours each. With the exception of the final assignment, which is undertaken during the final contact day, assignments are undertaken during learners¿ self-directed study periods between contact days.
¿Other (as agreed by SFJ Awards and the College of Policing)
Formative assessments will be undertaken for each unit.
