ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
The focus of assessment needs to be on the achievement of the assessment criteria in each of the 10 units. It is important to note that assessment of knowledge is not just about the ability to recall data and information, but extends to understanding.

Summative assessment of the units will be shown through a portfolio of the following. There are no weightings applied to any assessment elements. Assessments are graded pass or fail only;

Two 60 minute closed-book examinations; these will be comprised of multiple-choice/short Q&A-type questions. The pass mark for each is 15 out of 25 (60%).

Six written assignments; learners must demonstrate competence against all 91 assessment criteria mandated by the College of Policing in order to pass. Each assignment contains up to 30 questions. Assignments are expected to take learners 2 hours each. With the exception of the final assignment, which is undertaken during the final contact day, assignments are undertaken during learners¿ self-directed study periods between contact days.

Formative assessments will be undertaken for each unit.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
The Level 3 Module is a knowledge based qualification made up of 10 knowledge based units;

1. Knowledge of providing initial support to victims and witnesses within a policing context
2. Knowledge of gathering and submitting information to support law enforcement objectives within a policing context
3. Knowledge of providing an initial response to incidents within a policing context
4. Knowledge of arresting, detaining and reporting individuals within a policing context
5. Knowledge of conducting priority and volume investigations within a policing context
6. Knowledge of interviewing victims and witnesses within a policing context
7. Knowledge of interviewing suspects in relation to priority and volume investigations within a policing context
8. Knowledge of searching individuals within a policing context
9. Knowledge of searching vehicles, premises and open spaces within a policing context
10. Knowledge of managing conflict within a policing context
LEARNING STRATEGIES
The 84 contact hours will occur over 12 days, typically in 6 x 2 day blocks. All units will be supported by on-line resources (NCALT). Non-contact independent study (216 hours) will be directed.

Delivery is sensitive to the needs of the target market, and includes practice-based workshops, small group work, interactive lectures, simulations, case studies and discussions with professionals in the field.
