On completion of this module you will be gain experience of real cases and applying forensic science principles and processes to real and practical cases as part of the Forensic Advice and Consultancy Service/Forensic Advice Clinic
On completion of this module, you will be able to demonstrate knowledge of how to assess a case and conduct an initial evaluation and produce advice aimed at a wide variety of stakeholders.
On completion of this module, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to comply with quality standards and rules and regulation associated with the handling of confidential information and production of advice that can inform courts of law.

INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module is largely Problem Based Learning, with scheduled contact times via weekly tutorials to cover key points. Initially these tutorials will provide knowledge relating to the processes and procedures of the Advice Clinic, with later tutorials being more reflective depending on the amount and nature of cases received via the Advice clinic. A repository of cases will be maintained in the event of insufficient cases coming in.
WEB DESCRIPTOR
This is a problem-based module in that you will learn how to assess and evaluate real cases and enquiries that come in via the Forensic Advice Clinic. These requests can come from solicitors, police or even members of the public. Supported by members of the academic staff, you will gain real world practical experience of cases and gain an appreciation of the intricacies and variances of issues raised in court of law.
