Module Indicative Content
This module is designed to introduce Scriptwriting students to University in general, the degree course in particular. They will be asked to undertake various weekly tasks that will equip them with a wide range of personal and professional skills relevant to their University life, as well as life and career beyond graduation. The module will nurture the student in acquiring the following skills: academic and journalistic research methods; collaborative working; public speaking; time management; organisation of projects and research; writing in different registers; presenting (both individually and in groups); reflecting; and thinking critically.

The module's content will be a mixture of formative, unassessed, tasks and summative assessments. The formative tasks will be set on a weekly basis. The summative assessments will be set at strategic points during the semester - at the very beginning (Essay One), towards the end (Group Interview and Presentation), and at the very end (Essay Two) - in order to compliment the student's increased learning and confidence throughout the modular experience.
