The module is designed to explore film genre through practical exercises and production skills. Students will research how scenes are created in identified screen genre and carry out exercises in three chosen genre. One genre will be chosen as the basis for the practical production of one film scene as a team project. The basic skills of shot construction and editing are introduced. At the end of the module the finished scenes will be shown and discussed along with the work of peers. This feedback forms a very important part of the learning and will directly inform the written evaluation of the finished product - which is an individual essay on that chosen genre from each team member.
