Module Learning Strategies
A mix of workshops (to discuss research strategies and review findings) and independent learning under supervision
Module Indicative Content
Provides an opportunity for in-depth research into the development and writing of a major media production, with emphasis on the script. Designed to encourage independent learning and give students a greater understanding of the creative and practical processes at work in the preparation of a professional media product and an appreciation of the common problems that arise due to the collaborative nature of media production. By the end of the course students will have developed a deeper understanding of the realities of professional media scriptwriting and production as well as an improved ability to research, appraise and present material.
Module Additional Assessment Details
The module will be taught on the basis of individual tutorials once every two or three weeks as required, by arrangement between student and tutor.

The Research Dossier will comprise of a Contents page; and introduction to the dossier, with rationale for choice of Media Product; a synopsis of the product; an essay; evidence of independent research/notebooks; extracts from the product in support of main arguments (2000 words)
