INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module aims to provide you with an opportunity to develop your television production skills by producing a programme within a multi-camera studio. You will be given an overview of the pre-production, production, and post-production elements, with reference to the importance of ideas development, research, concept and style, use of set/studio design and technical production direction. Topics will include communicating to audiences and developing reading practices, the subject and development of an idea, presentation styles, narrative flow, mise-en-scene composition, and other key production components. There will be a considerable number of practical demonstrations/rehearsals and you will be introduced to a range of production skills and techniques in recording, editing, and mixing, with particular emphasis on live multi-camera studio production.

ASSESSMENT ONE: PROGRAMME PROPOSAL
A 10-minute programme proposal pitch identifying structural format and content, target audience(s), key aims, visual style and broadcaster.
LOs (Learning Outcomes): 1-4, 6 30%.
ASSESSMENT TWO: TELEVISION PRODUCTION
A 25-minute TV Studio Production.
LOs (Learning Outcomes): 1-4 50%.
ASSESSMENT THREE: REFLECTIVE PORTFOLIO
A 1500-word Reflective Portfolio covering learning in the development of the TV Studio Production and a reflection of production experience.
LOs (Learning Outcomes): 1-6 20%.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
The module will be taught through a combination of practical workshops, screenings, and evaluative focused discussions. There will be a combination of tutor-led practical crafting sessions, technical training and critical/theory based exploratory sessions. There will also be some guided independent study and tutorials, which will form a key component of on-going research, teamwork, meetings, personal development/skills development planning. In addition to this there will also be some sessions which examine the analytical components of television and their practical application, which can be used to inspire creative skills development.
