Module Indicative Content
Define the area, topic, question, problem for your dissertation.
Establish the nature of the project you are proposing - the theoretical basis, the theory/theories you will be working with, the discursive framework, the focus, the research methodologies, the structure.
Research and prepare a bibliography (and filmography if relevant)
Develop and refine the ideas proposed in the report under the continued supervision of your tutor
Draft and redraft the dissertation as necessary with reflexive and evaluative component and organise the production and presentation of a completed work.
Module Learning Strategies
You will progress by attending group tutorials with your nominated supervisor and peers for brainstorming and peer-discussion. These will run in parallel to one-to-one tutorial sessions to discuss issues and progress of your work. This is designed to enable you to plan and implement a workable dissertation project and independent research toward the drafting and writing of a dissertation.
