INDICATIVE CONTENT
The module is designed to enable students to research, devise and complete a music documentary production. There will be a combination of tutorials, workshops and training sessions leading up to the completion and presentation of a complete music documentary film or programme. Students will work in groups to develop their ideas and will identify production roles. The portfolio assessment (50%) will comprise of evaluative supportive materials towards the completed documentary, and may include an on-line reflective blog, critical evaluation essays and pitch notes. The documentary production (50%) will comprise of a finished documentary, presentation and supportive production materials. Students will receive on-going production training as an aid to the completion of the finished piece.
LEARNING STRATEGIES
There will be a series of weekly workshops/screenings, visitor masterclasses, trips & visits, training sessions and follow-up group tutorials to explore the themes and aims of this documentary production module. The emphasis will be around students working independently as groups, with supervisor support to complete a music documentary film/TV programme.
