Module Indicative Content
In negotiation with your Course Leader, you will undertake one or more tasks or projects which have been determined by an external organisation. This may involve you in working for sometime off campus, perhaps on the premises of the external organisation. You will experience working for a specific client, to their brief and deadlines, and begin to understand how you and your work relate to others in that or similar organisations. This experience should allow you to reflect on your current skills and understandings in order that you can identify area where improvement will bring you a professional standard.
Module Learning Strategies
You will be prepared for your placement project through tutorials with an identified member of staff and by introduction to the project sponsor within the chosen organisation. You will be given a written brief or job description by the external sponsor in order that there is a clear understanding of expectations. During your placement you will be supported by staff at the University both in terms of your progress and to ensure your wellbeing. At the end of the placement project you will be expected to reflect on the experience and to present the results of your work in an appropriate form. The external sponsor will also be asked for a short appraisal of your performance which will be considered during assessment.
