Module Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module, you should be able to:
1. Analyse real world items into useful and appropriate parts for virtual models within Maya. MQF1 2. Employ recognised, key techniques to create credible 3d digital models that exhibit qualities in modelling, texturing, lighting, camera work and rendering, and also compositing practice. MQF2 3. Demonstrate knowledge & understanding through the output of informed 3d content, which addresses the specified brief and complies with acknowledged standards and workflows for computer modelled assets and post production. MQF2,MQF6
Module Learning Strategies
The module comprises lectures and tutorials and involves team working skills within the assignment.
Module Indicative Content
Computer Modelling using Maya Computer generated models and post production techniques are often employed within film and games industries. This module will give the fundamental skills required to begin modelling, texturing and lighting artefacts, before those assets are further enhanced via 'post-production' (compositing).
You will be asked to understand and apply the fundamentals of computer modelling (instructor and video based delivery) to include:
Software interface, navigation, modes Modelling techniques / geometry types (Polygons, NURBS, Sub-Divs) UV Unwrapping Texturing / Shaders Cameras Lights Rendering
