Module Indicative Content
This module covers the skills required to produce assets for the mixed reality, games, vfx and visualisation industries through photogrammetry techniques.
Students will study:

• Core Photography Techniques.
• Introductory colour science for digital artists.
• Structure From Motion – core principles of photogrammetry.
• Photographic capture techniques for Photogrammetry.
• Panoramic HDR Capture for Delighting
• Data processing methods with Autodesk Remake Cloud / Reality Capture or Agisoft Photoscan.
• Mesh production from point cloud data.
• Texture projection.
• Mesh clean-up techniques.
• Delighting techniques for asset generation.
• Shader texture production from photographic reference.
• Texture cleanup techniques.
• Import and presentation within Maya/Arnold for offline rendering.
• Import and presentation within Unreal Engine 4 for realtime rendering.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A Portfolio weighted at 100%.

Production of an industry targeted portfolio of Photogrammetry sourced assets suitable for modern games engines and offline rendering. Accompanied by a development thread and reflective discussion.
(Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3 & 4).
Module Learning Strategies
3 hours per week. The module will be delivered using a combination of lectures, demonstrations and supervised tutorials. The majority of the work will be of a practical nature and students are expected to use their independent study time undertake further study as well as practise taught techniques.
