Module Details
ASSESSMENT DETAILS
80% portfolio consisting of a collection of pieces of digital art work, which will assess learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3

20% Reflective learning journal that charts the students choices and progress on the art portfolio which will assess learning outcome 4.
INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module aims to give the student an overview of the language of art and design. Including the basic principles of art, an introduction to fundamental art theories and cultural understanding.
Student will engage with activites leading to skills in
• Digital painting (form, light shade, how to create studies)
• Digital sculpture (form, balance and structure)
• 3D Graphics (modelling, lighting and rendering)
LEARNING STRATEGIES
3 hours per week. The module will be delivered using a combination of lectures, seminars, class discussions, media review and supervised tutorials. The work will be of a combination of theory and practical, and students are expected to use their independent study time to consolidate this work.
