Module Learning Strategies
A variety of learning strategies will be employed, including lectures, practical and tutorial sessions.

Module Indicative Content
This module is an introduction to the Photoshop and the skills required to produce texture bitmap assets and User Interface for the games and animation industries.
The focus will be on
- Understanding the role of the Games Texture Artists
- Understanding the development pipeline and work flow for texturing 3d assets
- Understanding the artistic requirements for a UI artist
And producing
- Game ready texture sheets
- Game Ready User Interface assets
These skills are transferable to further studies in 2D and texturing for 3D.
Module Additional Assessment Details
A portfolio of diffuse textures created from reference with investigatory and reflective discussion. Textures must be produced using Photoshop. (Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 4) 50% weighting
A portfolio of mock-ups and a Call-out sheet showing a User Interface solution created for one of the defined briefs with investigatory, critical and reflective discussion. User Interface Solutions must be produced using Photoshop. (Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 3) 50% weighting

This module introduces you to the workflows and techniques used within Adobe Photoshop to create Game Art based content. You'll be getting to grips with Photoshop by putting yourself in the position of a Games UI/Texture Artist creating User Interfaces designs and game-ready textures.
