Module Indicative Content
This module is designed to take the student from an introductory through to an intermediate level in the understanding and creation of computer generated 3D models and scenes. This includes a fundamental understanding of texture mapping, scene lighting and output, all adhering to a games development pipeline.
Module Additional Assessment Details
Coursework weighted at 100%.
Consisting of: a practical weighted at 70%. A reflective video weighted at 30%.
PRACTICAL assignment will involve the creation of 3D environment assets based on a theme
REFLECTIVE VIDEO will communicate production workflow and suitability for a game engine
Assessing learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3.
Module Learning Strategies
1 hour lecture and one 2 hour tutorial session per week.
The module will be delivered using a combination of lectures, demonstrations and supervised tutorials. The majority of the work will be of a practical nature and students are expected to use their independent study time to consolidate this work.
