Module Assessment Details
A skills portfolio weighted at 100% comprising -

The portfolio will involve students creating Bitmap imagery throughout the module with one final submission at the end, assessing Learning Outcomes 1 to 3
Module Indicative Content
This module forms an introduction to Photoshop and the skills required to produce texture bitmap assets and environment designs.

The focus will be on:
- Understanding the transferrable role of the Games Environment Designer and Texture Artists in the field of Robotics
- Understanding the development pipeline and work flow for realistic environments

Students will produce

- Robot Designs
- Game ready sprite sheets
- User Interfaces, and
- Level concepts for 2D games

These skills are transferable to further studies and texturing for 3D.
Module Learning Strategies
A variety of learning strategies will be employed, including lectures, practical and tutorial sessions.
Semester 1: 3 hours per week lectures / Tutorials
Semester 2: 1 hour lecture and a 2 hour lab per week

Each Delivered intensively over the first 8 weeks followed by 4 weeks of surgery sessions
