Module Indicative Content
A fundamental guide to the basics of community management.
- How to build, develop and maintain a games community – managing content calendars, acting as a public-facing representative for the game/brand, creating engagement opportunities at events, analysing and reporting on content performance, providing feedback to internal teams on community experience and striving for innovation
- Proactive, reactive and crisis community management – case studies
- A look at different types of community and how they work and differ
- Basic of content creation for community use – photo / video
- A look at the role of community management and social media – touching on channels such as Twitch, Instagram, Reddit, Snapchat etc.
- The basics of community analytics – why do we need analytics and why should a community manager be aware of them?
- A look at the role of a community manager – what is required and how that differs in small / large community management teams
- Academic work / leading researchers in the field of games / community management

20x 3hour interactive session to introduce, outline and examine the fundamentals of games community management.
4x3hour sessions lead by students demonstrating observations of game communities they have researched
