Module Learning Strategies
3 hours per week. The module will be delivered using a combination of lectures, demonstrations and supervised tutorials. The majority of the work will be of a practical nature and students are expected to use their independent study time to consolidate this work (1:20)3
Module Indicative Content
This module will introduce students to the basics of 3D Head Modelling covering:
- Character Creation Techniques
- Concept Creation and documentation, creating characters from concept art
- Colour theory and creative thinking
- Polygon Modelling using form, flow and function
- Edge loop modelling
- Facial anatomy and its function for animators
- Facial rigging and animation techniques
- High and low polygon modelling for faces
- Facial rigging and aniamtion techniques
- High and low polygon modelling
Module Additional Assessment Details
Log Book (40%) equivalent to 2000 words assessing Learning Outcome 4 and associated practical work (60%) assessing Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 3.
