Module Learning Strategies
1 hour per week consisting of:-
1 x 1 hour group meeting in which the group meets at a set time / place and the tutoring staff are on hand.
Students are expected to continue working on the project in their own time. There will be milestone demonstrations at select intervals throughout the 12 weeks.
Module Indicative Content
The students will learn to work within a group to design a game. In the course of this they will learn
1. Original Design Documentation as a working document
2. Work flow from a practical point of view
3. Practical Level Design and development
4. The necessity of meticulous planning
5. Budgeting and Scheduling
6. Conflict resolution in collaborative game design
7. Testing
Module Additional Assessment Details
A individual report length 3000 words weighted at 100% accompanied by appropriate design material from groupwork (Learning outcomes 1, 2, 3 and 4).
This report is an individual report, based on teamworking methods of problem solving, showing the students ability to demonstrate the critical thinking needed to analyse certain reoccuring themes games designers come across. The Report should have elements of critical and self evaluation.
