70% Practical Games User Interface Prototype assessing learning outcome 4.
Module Indicative Content
To take multiple layers of information and present them through visualisation techniques which aid the user in a multi player online gaming environment.
Use of information visualisation techniques, which would incorporate visual layout, colour theory, cognitive understanding combined with the functionality to customise the user experience within a `live? environment. Students will gain a deeper understanding of applied HCI principles.
Understand the psychology of games players and how they interact with the multiple layers of presented data.
Use of a suitable games engine with high level language scripting ability to undertake prototyping of a multi-user interface design, to provide transferable skills. Use of a high level scripting language to create an interface overlaid over a game engine.
Use techniques and concepts used to justify design decisions, in both layout and programming.
Module Special Admissions Requirements
Students should have studied CE00737-4 Multiplayer Games Prototyping 1B or equivalent.
