Within the module students will be introduced to the fundamental processes required to produce innovative environment concepts for games and film.

Assessment Component 1 – (Learning outcomes 1,2 and 3)

A portfolio of Environment Concept Art Assets 80% consisting of:

You will create a series of environment assets that form a themed environment concept design project. You will research, design, and iterate these design assets.

Assessment Component 2 – (Learning outcome 4)

Reflective Development Journal weighted at 20% consisting of:

You will evidence the production of the portfolio on the Digital Academy Forum. As the Assets are created you will evidence your workflow and critically reflect upon any improvements by comparing against the projects aesthetic and industry contemporaries.

2 x 3 hr workshops
Learning Outcomes
1. Examine the relevant material and assemble a reference sheet necessary to design an environmental concept art asset

2. Produce a piece of environmental concept art using industry standard practises

3. Discuss the design process, using current industry standard technologies and workflows in the production of environment concept design assets.

4. Evaluate the creation and iteration of the produced assets, the workflows used to create the assets and their industry readiness.
