A portfolio of Protypes weighted at 80% consisting of:

Two video game prototypes that demonstrates the knowledge and principles of the rapid creation of early-stage prototype games.


Assessment Component 2 – (Learning outcomes 2 and 4)
A portfolio of Protypes weighted at 20% consisting of:

A written account of technical design decisions that accurately communicates the technical development of the built prototypes.
Learning Strategies
2x 1-hour lectures presenting game prototyping methods, and core concepts of scripting.
2x 2-hour tutorial sessions for technical implementation, assistance and live coding guidance.
Learning Outcomes
1. Identify different project management methodologies in relation to creating prototypical gameplay experiences

2. Interpret technical design choices in development in accordance with the basic theories and concepts of games prototyping.

3. Apply the underlying principles of games prototyping methods to produce early-stage game prototypes.

4. Discuss the technical development of prototype games through development documentation.
