MODULE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Demonstrate simple object animation, and basic engine implementation
2. Select appropriate tools and techniques to solve problems when producing games animations
3. Discuss animation principles and industry standard tools and techniques

MODULE ADDITIONAL ASSESSMENT DETAILS
Assessment Component 1 – (Learning outcome 1)
A Portfolio of Animations weighting at 70% consisting of:
- A series of hand keyframed animations and engine implementations that provide in-context application of the skills developed.

Assessment Component 2 – (Learning outcomes 2,3 and 4)
A Reflective Development Log weighted at 30% consisting of:
- Presentation of iterative progress and problem solving made on animation and engine challenges throughout the academic year, including research conducted to aid in the process of learning and creation.

WEB DESCRIPTOR
This module introduces students to game animation through planning, application, and problem solving of animations that are finalised and taken into a game engine context.

Using a game engine, students will learn how animations are set up and technically implemented into the core mechanics of the game.
