You will paint a series of studies in a variety of styles and techniques provided by the tutors and then adapt them to produce accompanying original concept designs in a portfolio of work

Assessment Component 2 - (Learning Outcomes 4)
Reflective Development Logbook weighted at 20% consisting of:

You will evidence your produce of the Portfolio on the Digital Academy. As the studies and concepts are created you will evidence your workflow and critically define any improvements by comparing against the projects aesthetic and industry contemporaries.

1. Critically evaluate the composition of a piece of study reference and demonstrate an advanced understanding of how composition impacts visual communication and storytelling in art and design.

2. Complete a portfolio of painted studies showcasing a high level of artistic proficiency using a wide variety of art styles and advanced techniques

3. Appraise and adapt completed studies and utilise them as a basis for original concept designs towards a brief

4. Critically Reflect on the creation and iteration of the studies and their resulting concepts

This module will allow the student to partake in the classic art educational practise of studies and master’s studies. They will reproduce, using digital painting techniques, various reference images. After this, they will adapt what they have painted into new original concept design.
