This module teaches the visual language of film and how it relates to keyframe illustration for production. Students will learn:
Composition
Blocking
Shot progression
Lighting for narrative purposes
Aspect ratios

Assessment component 1 – (Learning Outcomes 1, 2 and 3)
Portfolio weighted at 80% consisting of:
You will create a 5-story driven key frame illustrations based on a supplied industry focused brief.
This will include the completed work, a breakdown of the applied chosen pipeline and a breakdown of the real world and creative reference material.
Portfolio will contain accompanying research and visual references
Assessment component 2 – (Learning Outcome 4)
Video Essay weighted at 20%
You will create a video essay reflecting on the production process and outcome of the practical
You will evidence self-reflection and peer critique and how this was applied and acted upon.
The video will culminate in with a discussion of self-reflection using a given development framework
