Module Indicative Content
The module seeks firstly, to develop advanced understanding of career and professional practice in the sustainability job sector, and secondly, to develop selected skills in employability and career management for Level 3 undergraduates in the sustainability programme. The module uses a series of presentations by practitioners working in the sustainability sector to develop an awareness of the range and diversity of careers and the challenge of professional practice. These presentations are linked to research and analysis that students undertake profiling the sustainability employment market and work practices. In addition, the students, working in groups, develop their inter-personal, transferable and research skills by writing a bid proposal for a sustainability project in a selected sector. A series of parallel workshops develop skills in employability by introducing personal profiling and targeted CV writing for a postgraduate course or specific job, further support the students in the development of career management skills.
