Module Learning Strategies
These Learning Strategies will occupy your time: 3x1 hour meetings - at the beginning, middle and end of the semester - with your History Placement Tutor. 30 hours spent in the work place negotiated with the 'employer' on an individual basis (viz: up to a 3 week block; extended programme of single or half-days). 117 hours of independent study and application to the critical report.
Module Indicative Content
This module offers the opportunity to experience the professional world of work in the public sector (either in an archive, or a museum or a primary/secondary school). Particular attention is paid to an appreciation of the ethical, practical and technical issues involved in working with and for archivists, curators and teachers in the audit-driven culture of the twenty-first century.
