INDICATIVE CONTENT
This module aims to give you an understanding of the meaning of the concepts of international organisation and global governance as well as their significance in the contemporary global political economy. It examines the nature of international law, hegemony, and international regimes before examining the structure, role and significance of major international organizations such as the UN, the Bretton Woods Institutions and case study of an NGO and a MNC. The module will also explore best practice in partnership working translated to the global level. It will also examine regime case studies, which may include GPE topics such as human rights and sustainable development.

LEARNING STRATEGIES
The primary strategy will be on self-instruction, within a tightly structured VLE framework and relying largely on on-line materials. Week by week, you will work through self-instructional course material (delivered via Blackboard), which provides the framework and focus for reading key texts and undertaking the specific tasks set. This work will be undertaken on an individual basis, but you will be expected to interact and share material and ideas with other students in your learning group and with your tutor. The module will run over 12 weeks.
