Module Indicative Content
This module offers the opportunity to experience, either on an individual basis or as a member of a team, the professional world of work in the public sector (either in an archive, or a museum or a primary/secondary school). Particular attention is paid to an appreciation of the ethical, practical, technical and financial (resource) issues involved in working with and for archivists, curators and teachers in the audit-driven culture of the twenty-first century.
Module Learning Strategies
These Learning Strategies will occupy your time: 3x1 hour meetings at the beginning, middle and end of the semester - with your History Placement Tutor. 30 hours spent in the workplace negotiated with the 'employer' on an individual basis (viz: up to a 3 week block; extended programme of single or half-days). 117 hours of independent study and application to the critical report.
