1 X 4000 WORD PORTFOLIO, WEIGHTED AT 100%

This will require individual reflection on the experience of participating in Citizenship and Community Cohesion education. It will consist of a series of completed tasks that emerge from the work-shop sessions (for example, lesson and session plans) and, of a 2000 word learning diary which will require demonstration of awareness of the critical arguments relating to the teaching of citizenship to school children. Module Indicative Content
This module explores the activities that surround the development and delivery of Citizenship & Community Cohesion training within a school environment. It is designed to provide Continuing Professional Development opportunities for teachers who work in Primary & Secondary education. Learners will be introduced to the concepts and theory of Citizenship and will explore the range of controversial issues that arise in this area of education. The course will be practice based and is intended to give learners the skills they require to plan and deliver effective teaching methods within a school environment.

ALL ELEMENTS OF THE PORTFOLIO MUST BE ATTEMPTED.

The programme will be delivered primarily through a series of SIX, 3 hour workshops, which will be supported by access to online material and tutorial support.
